History of Guardian Angels Regional School
Guardian Angels Regional School, located in Gibbstown, NJ, first opened its doors in September 2001 to meet the growing educational needs of southern Gloucester County. The school was established by revitalizing the former St. Michael's School, which had closed in 1987. The name change reflects the regionalization of St. Michael's Parish with St. John the Evangelist Parish in Paulsboro and Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Mullica Hill. Starting with a modest enrollment of Pre-K and Kindergarten students, Guardian Angels added a grade level each year and now offers a rigorous, values-based education from Pre-K 3 through 8th Grade.
In October 2006, Guardian Angels School expanded by opening a second Grades 4 through 8 campus at the former St. John's School site in Paulsboro, just 2 miles from the original Gibbstown location. This new facility, refurbished to include a large gymnasium—the largest among Diocese of Camden grade schools—also boasts a dedicated library, computer lab, science lab, and art and music studio, all situated within secure, fenced-in grounds ideal for outdoor activities.
In November 2007, Bishop Galante's "Faith in the Future" initiative announced that Guardian Angels Regional School would continue to thrive and grow, ensuring the school's commitment to meeting regional educational needs.
As we look to the future, we are excited to announce the opening of our Swedesboro campus for the 2024-2025 school year. This new location will accommodate our 4th through 8th-grade students, marking another significant step in our ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience.
